Sunnyside Trail to Mount Talbert
4.3 (3)park
Open sunrise to sunset.
A volcanic butte rising above Happy Valley, with miles of trails winding through native prairie and songbird habitat.
Description

Bordered by Interstate 205 and Happy Valley, Mount Talbert rises 750 feet with nearly three million years of geology shaped by lava, floods, fires, and people. The park's four-plus miles of routes pair a flat, wide gravel loop trail and interpretive display with more rugged single-track natural trails. Preserved as an island of habitat amid surrounding development, the grounds shelter deer, Western gray squirrels, and woodpeckers, alongside seasonal migrations of warblers, vireos, orioles, and tanagers.
