Daylight by the Shore
Washington Park gives the day its outdoor start across 165 acres of lawns, lakes and formal flower beds. Smith Lake and Grasmere Lake share the grounds with a historic boathouse. Two miles of running paths offer a way to stretch your legs before an evening on South Broadway. The park opens daily at 5:00 AM and closes at 11:00 PM. Tennis courts add another option for the daytime stop.
The Checkerboard Pool Room
At Skylark Lounge, the downstairs venue hosts live indie music, while a billiards area occupies the upper floor. Movie posters and jukeboxes fill the interior, and a spacious patio offers an outdoor place to gather. The bar opens daily at 4:00 PM and closes at 2:00 AM. Entry is limited to guests 21+, and vertical IDs are not accepted. On Fridays and Saturdays, vinyl plays downstairs all night with no cover.
Daylight Meets the Late Shift
Washington Park and Skylark Lounge pair broad outdoor space with a bar built around music and billiards. The park brings lawns, formal flower beds and two lakes into the daytime half. At the lounge, the focus shifts to indie bands downstairs, a pool room upstairs and movie posters around the interior. An outdoor patio carries a little open air into the evening half, giving the pairing a shared outdoor element alongside its change of setting.
