Description

After neighborhood residents rallied to revive the venue, the City of Boston assumed ownership in 1979, anchoring it as a civic cultural resource with a dedicated focus on the Upham’s Corner community. Inside, the historic auditorium accommodates between 1,381 and 1,414 attendees across an orchestra, mezzanine, and balcony. The calendar balances educational projects, civic gatherings, and multicultural performing arts, though visitor experiences tend to vary depending on the specific event on stage.
