Description

Acquired in 1971 to help relieve a shortage of recreational facilities during Garfield Ridge's population boom, the park earned its name through a 1976 Bicentennial contest in the surrounding 23rd Ward. Little League Baseball is a popular activity on site, while a mobile trailer fieldhouse has provided space for indoor activities since 1984.
