A leafy Capitol Hill square with shaded walkways, a playground, and a bronze monument to General Nathanael Greene.
Description

Originally designated as “No. 5” by Pierre L’Enfant in 1791, this four-acre cultural landscape in northeast Washington became an established public park following improvements in the 1870s. Bounded between 4th and 6th Streets NE, it remains one of the larger Capitol Hill parks, set within easy walking distance of Union Station, the Supreme Court, the U.S. Capitol, and the Belmont-Paul Women’s Equality National Monument.
