Description

Acquired in 1941 in the neighborhood named for settler James John, the 5.87-acre park pairs neighborhood recreation with civic utility. Activity centers on a softball field and soccer field alongside wide, summer-watered grass for casual ball games, while the accessible play space is padded with engineered mulch and rubberized surfaces.

The grounds also house the St. Johns Community Center and serve as a designated Basic Earthquake Emergency Communication Node for post-disaster aid. Picnic areas share the open space, though benches and shaded seating remain sparse.
