St. Augustine on Foot, and You Decide the Guide's Pay
A 90-minute walk through St. Augustine's old town with a local guide paid only in tips, ending at Flagler's former Hotel Alcazar.
The walk starts in the square between the Visitor Information Center and the city parking garage on Castillo Drive and covers St. Augustine's historic core in about 90 minutes. The listing names six stops: Castillo de San Marcos, the Bridge of Lions, Plaza de la Constitución, the Cathedral Basilica, Flagler College and the Lightner Museum.
It finishes in front of the Lightner Museum on King Street, away from where it started. The listing includes no admission at any stop, and the stops are made outside the buildings. One reviewer went back the next day to see the interiors.

One booking is priced per group. On this listing USD 5 covers one booking of up to six people, and the operator asks larger groups to get in touch before booking. By the operator's own account its guides receive no salary of any kind beyond tips, and what you hand over at the end is the guide's pay.
As of October 18, 2026, the booking calendar shows a 10:00 AM start on every day except Wednesday, plus a 1:00 PM start on some Sundays.

Castillo de San Marcos is the stone fort the National Park Service describes as the oldest masonry fortification in the continental United States, and the walk keeps to its outside. The listing gives the fort about five minutes as a stop. In a public reply to a review, the operator wrote that the fort is actually mentioned at four different stops.
The Bridge of Lions, which the listing describes as a double-leaf bascule bridge spanning the Intracoastal Waterway, gets another five minutes. Going inside the fort is a separate visit on a National Park Service ticket: 15 dollars for each adult 16 and over, good for seven days, with children 15 and under free.
The Plaza, the Cathedral and Flagler's Two Hotels

The longest stop on the listing, about twenty minutes, is Plaza de la Constitución, which the listing ties to a town-planning ordinance from 1573. The Cathedral Basilica, described by the listing as home to the nation's first Catholic parish, stands on Cathedral Place beside it.
Two stops of about ten minutes each belong to Henry Flagler's Gilded Age. Flagler College, which the listing says was built in 1888 as his Ponce de León Hotel, faces the former Hotel Alcazar across King Street. The Alcazar is now the Lightner Museum, and the walk ends at its front.
Shade Stops and a Restaurant List
Reviewers keep coming back to two habits of this walk. The guide stops the group in the shade to talk, which counts for a lot in a Florida summer. One reviewer in August 2026 wrote that whenever the group stopped, he would find a shady spot for everyone to stand and listen. At the end, several reviewers were handed a list of the guide's restaurant picks and ate their way through some of it.
The operator calls its guides licensed. The city's tour guide license page says guides have to pass a one-time exam on local history, landmarks and street names. Reviews name more than one guide, and the person leading your morning is not fixed.
Days, Weather, Access and the Garage Next Door
Cancelling at least 24 hours before the start gets a full refund; inside 24 hours the USD 5 is not refunded. The listing also allows the operator to cancel for bad weather.
The listing ticks wheelchair accessible and says all areas and surfaces are accessible. The operator's own site does not address access and says only that service animals are welcome. Reviewers mention benches and places to sit for a moment along the way.
Drivers can use the city garage beside the meeting square at 20 dollars per car per entry between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM; the 3-dollar rate is for St. Johns County residents only. One reviewer suggests arriving a few minutes early in case of a line at the garage entrance.
📍 Meet in the square between the Visitor Information Center at 10 S Castillo Drive and the parking garage. Someone there holds a sign with the company's name, and the staff inside the visitor center will point the way for anyone who cannot spot it. The walk ends in front of the Lightner Museum at 75 King Street.
A 10:00 AM start finishes around 11:30 AM on King Street, right when that restaurant list becomes useful.
