🗓️ Saturday, Oct 31 at the Seaport

🍬 3 to 5 PM, Trick or Treat Around the Seaport

Trick or treat runs from 3 PM to 5 PM, when participating Seaport businesses hand out candy to visitors in costume, from Funny Face and Kee's Chocolates to McNally Jackson. The full list of participating stops is posted on the Seaport Halloween page. Families arriving earlier can add a free scavenger hunt aboard the 1885 tall ship Wavertree, part of free South Street Seaport Museum admission from 11 AM to 5 PM.

🐟 4 to 8 PM, the Haunted Fish Market

The Old Seaport Alliance runs the Haunted Fish Market in Peck Slip Park from 4 PM to 8 PM, overlapping the last hour of trick or treat. Expect spooky fish, creepy creatures and photo ops that nod to the old fish market, plus pumpkin painting, apple cider and cider donuts. Dog owners can register for the Dog Costume Contest from 4 PM, and the listing gives a sign up time rather than a contest start time. Staff at the park can confirm when judging begins. Entry is free.

🎃 After Dark, the Pumpkin Arch at Pier 17

Once it gets dark, walk a few minutes from Peck Slip to the Heineken Riverdeck at Pier 17, the waterfront deck where the lit Pumpkin Arch stands this season. It is at its most striking at night, with the Brooklyn Bridge behind it, a calm last photo before heading home. Check that the deck is open that evening before walking over.
