Spoken Word with Steam Down

Germane Marvel, Down Community Host, leads these heritage-inspired workshops with guest facilitators, diving into Union Chapel's 200+ year archive and Islington's cultural legacy. Participants explore the links between sound, memory, social justice, and local histories, reinterpreting stories of resistance, identity, migration, spirituality, and belonging through poetry, rap, beatbox, and music production. The sessions are designed for young people, with an 18+ age restriction.
