Split a Chauffeured Car Four Ways for Napa Wine Tasting

A private car and driver for a Napa Valley tasting day. The price covers the car, and the wine is paid for separately.

Split a chauffeured car for a Napa wine day.

You book a car and a driver for the day, and the listing prices it by the vehicle: USD 699 for six hours or USD 989 for nine. The booking form takes one to four people. Four people pay exactly what one person pays.

That pricing shapes the plan. Nobody in your group drives between tastings, and the car stays yours from pickup until the hours run out.

The listing includes transportation and nothing else. Tasting fees, reservation fees and the driver's tip are all listed as not included, and the listing sets 21 as the minimum age for everyone in the car. The operator's own tour page also leaves meals, drinks and bridge tolls out of the price.

Six Hours Runs Short From San Francisco

Two guests who started in the city said the same thing about time. One wrote in 2022 that "the 6 hours is not enough if you are being picked up from San Francisco, so allow an extra 2 hours for the transfer." Another, picked up at the hotel and driven to Napa, ended a review with "Don’t miss doing this trip for 9 hours - you will need it!!" Visit Napa Valley puts the drive from San Francisco to downtown Napa at one to two hours, depending on traffic and the day of the week. Starting in San Francisco, plan on the nine-hour car.

Time past the booked hours is charged on the day, by the hour, and the operator's own tour page prices each extra hour at USD 140. A 2022 guest staying in downtown Napa was asked to pay for two extra hours at drop-off, and the operator's public reply said the overtime had been agreed in advance and billed hourly. The same reply described the six-hour day it had planned for that guest as three scheduled wineries plus lunch, running from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

Who Books the Wineries

The listing does not name a single winery. Its only stop is Napa Valley itself, and the operator's own tour page says it is the "customer's responsibility to schedule and maintain appointments with the wineries." Treat the tasting reservations as yours to make. Visit Napa Valley advises booking well ahead, since some of the more popular wineries fill their reservations weeks in advance.

Guests describe the operator helping with that, suggesting wineries and making appointments for them. One wrote in 2024: "He recommended and made appointments at a couple and we added one more at the end." Sonoma is in play as well: a 2023 guest wrote that the driver scheduled "Ledson winery in Sonoma and Castello di Amorosa in Napa Valley." Reservation fees are listed among the exclusions, so any charge for holding those appointments sits outside the price of the car.

What the Driver Is There to Do

The listing sells transportation, and that is the honest frame for this day. Guests across several years describe drivers who know the valley; one in 2021 called his "very knowledgeable" and said he "offered lots of tips." A 2022 guest who had expected a guided tour full of history came away unhappy with what was, in their words, a driver. Book it for the driving and the planning, and count any commentary as extra.

The listing does not name the vehicle. Guests mention a Mercedes S500 sedan and a Mercedes GLS SUV, and a 2026 guest wrote that the operator "offers different choices of cars we can reserve."

Pickup, Fees and the No-Refund Rule

Pickup runs from a list of San Francisco hotels and from the San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose and Sacramento airports and the Napa and Sonoma County airports, or from an address you enter. The listing says some pickup locations carry an extra charge and does not name them, so put your exact pickup address in the booking form.

All sales are final, and cancelling on your side brings no refund. Gratuities are not included.

The listing has no fixed start time. The day begins whenever pickup is set, and guests who started in the city found the drive out counted toward their hours. When the last tasting wraps up, the road back to the hotel is someone else's job.
