Spicy Tuna Rolls and Tempura Hand Rolls in a Roxbury Brewery

A two-hour Sunday class in a Roxbury brewery where a Boston sushi chef takes beginners through miso soup, two hand rolls and a spicy tuna roll.

The class runs inside Long Live Roxbury, the brewery taproom at 152 Hampden Street. That brewery is the location pinned on the booking, and the operator, Classpop!, lists its Sunday sushi class with Chef Harold at the same address under the name Long Live Beerworks.

The open dates all start at 12:00 PM and run two hours. The chef has more than 20 years of experience, from California to Boston. Recent traveler reviews call him Chef Harold.

Seats are sold per person, and the operator confirms each booking by hand. Sales close eight hours before the start time, and the class can be called off if too few people book.

Miso Soup, Two Hand Rolls, Then an Inside-Out Roll

The class opens with a bowl of miso soup made from miso paste, dashi and wakame. Then come two hand rolls, or temaki: shrimp tempura first, then a sweet potato roll that suits vegetarians. The last piece is a spicy tuna roll made inside-out, the uramaki style.

The ingredients are gluten-free, nut-free and dairy-free. All ingredients and cooking tools are provided, and the menu is the same one posted for this class.

Beer Is at the Bar, on Your Own Tab

The class is held in a working brewery taproom, with craft beer alongside the rolling. Drinks are not part of the ticket. They are sold at the venue's bar, at roughly USD 3 to 20 each.

Everyone on the booking has to be 21 or older; only adult tickets are sold.

Flag Allergies Early and Sit Near the Chef

The class is built to handle a range of dietary needs, and most restrictions can be handled when noted before the event.

One traveler in December 2025 wrote that the chef works without a microphone, and that the group heard him well only because it sat right next to him. Take a seat close to the chef's station.
