South Hawthorne Waterfront Park
4.6 (50)park
A peaceful Willamette riverfront park with lily ponds, paved trails, and clear views of Portland's bridges.
Description

Paved paths cut a route connecting the RiverPlace Esplanade to Tilikum Crossing, opening sightlines toward the Marquam and Hawthorne bridges and, on clear days, distant glimpses of Mount Hood and Mount St. Helens.
Along the riverbank, the grounds hold the 'River Shift' basalt sculpture alongside direct public water access. Garden beds of irises, azaleas, wild geraniums, and rhododendrons enclose meditation benches set among duck-inhabited water, offering quiet perches in sun or shade.
