🔦 One Night After Dark

📜 What the Walk Covers

Guides carry flashlights and lead groups along winding, dimly lit pathways, telling the stories of the people buried at Laurel Hill East. The roster runs from Civil War general George Gordon Meade to Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalas. The grounds are an arboretum too, so the route passes old trees alongside the monuments, and the night ends with festive beverages around roaring fire pits.

🎟️ Tickets and Ages

Tickets are $25 for ages 13 and up, $23 for seniors 65+ and students with ID, $20 for Friends members, $12.50 for youth 6 to 12, and free for ages 5 and under. 🚌 Getting In and the Grounds

SEPTA's 61 bus runs from Center City along 9th Street and stops at Clearfield Street across from the gatehouse. Parking inside the Ridge Avenue entrance is closed for construction; free street spots are on West Indiana Avenue, Shedwick Street and 35th Street. Enter at 3822 Ridge Ave, where the Gatehouse has the only restrooms. Paths are uneven, hilly and pocked with groundhog holes, so wear walking shoes with a real sole. Three miles of paved road are wheelchair accessible and cars may drive inside; call 610-668-9900 or email programs@laurelhillphl.com ahead to arrange a route kept on pavement. Dinner before the walk: Jake's & Cooper's Wine Bar, 4365 Main Street in Manayunk, opens at noon Saturday. Eastern State Penitentiary, a few miles away in Fairmount, needs its own ticket and closes at 4:40 PM.
