"Something Is Being Done" Monument
4.6 (5)attraction
A bronze bas-relief that charts women’s fight for equality, linking a 1913 suffragist to modern protestors.
Description

Designed by artist Meredith Bergmann, the monument guides scenes and figures along powder horn outlines toward a central gateway. Historic suffragist slogans appear alongside local flora, animals, and ancient and modern feminine symbols, representing the journey and slow progress of equal rights. Created through the LexSeeHer initiative, the installation addresses the historical underrepresentation of women in public monuments.
