Solve Sherlock's Case or Find a Cursed Ship's Treasure in Ocean City
A private escape room on Ocean City's 118th Street: one hour, your group alone, and a game master with hints.
An hour here buys the whole room. The operator's FAQ says it plainly: once booked, the escape room is exclusively yours. Nobody from another party is working the same lock, which matters most to families and first-timers.
Expect a slow start the first time. A Viator reviewer in August 2026 found the puzzle difficult and wrote that the group "needed the clues to even know how to begin." The same review called it "a good way to escape the heat and humidity."

Viator sells this hour at USD 36 per player, with one to eight players on a booking. Confirmation is instant, and all six reviews so far give it five stars.
1 Hour Private Escape Room Experience in Ocean CitySixty minutes in a private themed escape room at Trapped Escape Rooms, Suite I, 11805 Coastal Highway, Ocean City. One to eight players per booking. Group picture included.www.viator.comThree Rooms at the 118th Street Site

The operator's own site lists three rooms at this address, each a 60-minute game:
- The Great Heist: help Holmes and Watson close a case by hunting for clues in the apartment at 221B Baker Street. Tagged for families and not spooky, the room holds up to 10
- Black Sail's Lost Treasure: board a 17th-century ship that, legend says, reached shore in 1720 with its whole crew missing, and search it for treasure. Not spooky, up to 8
- Cabin in the Woods: a decaying cabin in the dark and one hour before the huntsman returns. The only room here tagged spooky, up to 7
The Viator description still names Poltergeist as one of this site's games. The operator's site now lists Poltergeist at its Midtown branch on 80th Street, as a 45-minute game. The booking has a single option and no room picker. If your group has a preference, tell the operator after you book.
Hints on Request, Phones Left Outside

Arrive at least 15 minutes early, which the operator asks for so the team can gear up before the clock starts. A game master watches the room the whole time. When you're stuck, a nod is enough to get a hint, and anyone who wants out can say the word and be taken out.
The house rules are strict about gear. Phones, cameras and tools stay out of the play area, and no photos or video are allowed inside. A group picture is part of the booking. The operator records audio and video during your visit, and nobody plays drunk or high. Breaking the rules can end the game without a refund.
Bringing Kids, and Who Can Get In
The booking's one ticket type covers ages 7 to 80. The operator's FAQ adds two rules of its own: anyone under 16 needs a supervising adult, and children under 7 get in free.
For a younger group, The Great Heist and Black Sail's Lost Treasure are the two rooms the operator tags not spooky. A Viator reviewer in June 2026 called it a fun family experience with very friendly staff.
The listing marks all areas and surfaces wheelchair accessible, allows service animals and calls the game suitable for all physical fitness levels. The operator's own pages don't address wheelchair access, and its FAQ warns of a few surprises along the way.
Summer Every Day, Winter on Weekends
The operator's summer hours are 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily, from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day only. In winter it opens Friday through Sunday only, 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and it notes that holidays may bring longer hours. Its FAQ suggests booking ahead, especially for weekends and rainy days.
- Booking cutoff: one hour before the start time
- Cancellation: full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before the start
- Tickets: mobile or paper
- Not included: bottled water
📍 The game starts and ends at Suite I in the Food Lion Shopping Plaza, 11805 Coastal Highway, at 118th Street. The operator lists free parking at this site, and the listing notes public transportation nearby. You walk back out with a group picture from inside the room.
