SOFI TUKKER Bring Animal Talk to the Greek Theatre
SOFI TUKKER play the Greek on the Animal Talk run, a duo that sings in Portuguese about as often as in English.
🌿 Saturday night in Griffith Park

🎧 What the two of them do
Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern met at Brown and have been a duo since. Sophie plays guitar and sings, often in Portuguese, and Tucker builds the electronics around her live rather than running a finished track. Their breakout record set a Brazilian poem to house music, and the Portuguese never became a gimmick they grew out of. Animal Talk is the run they are touring now, with DRAMA opening.
🌲 The Greek as an outdoor room
The Greek sits inside Griffith Park with the hillside rising directly behind the stage, seating about 5,900 under open sky. Because the venue is carved into a canyon rather than dropped on a flat lot, the sound stays contained and the neighbourhood curfew is the reason sets end when they do. Trees fill the sightlines on both sides, so it reads more like a clearing than an amphitheatre.
🚗 The parking situation is the whole trick
The Greek runs stacked parking, which means you leave when the car in front of you leaves. Rideshare pickup sits down the hill on Vermont Avenue, and walking that stretch beats waiting out the stacked lot by a comfortable margin. Doors are an hour before the 7:30 PM start. Canyon air drops fast after sunset, so bring a layer even in September.
