Snorkel Off Dania Beach, Then Paddle Into the Mangroves

A guided swim out to an artificial reef by the Dania Beach Pier, then a kayak or paddleboard trip through calm mangroves.

Rio Santos runs this as two outings in one booking: a guided snorkel at an artificial reef, then a guided kayak or paddleboard trip through mangroves. The listing sets it at about four hours, with guides who speak English, Spanish and Portuguese.

The two halves happen on different water: the reef is a short swim off the beach where the group meets, and the mangroves are on calm inland water. Travelers who went in 2026 wrote about schools of fish at the reef, and about iguanas, a stingray and quiet paddling in the mangroves.

The listing caps each departure at eight travelers, and one traveler can book alone. Two travelers who turned out to be the only booking on their slot, in November 2025 and September 2026, wrote that the tour went ahead anyway. Booking closes two hours before the start and confirms right away.

The Reef, a Short Swim Off the Beach

The day starts on the sand. Per the listing, guests are welcomed with non-alcoholic drinks, fitted with snorkel gear and flotation vests, and run through a short practice in shallow water before swimming out. The reef is made of artificial structures with soft corals growing on them, and the operator, replying to a review, says it sits close to shore on purpose, for safety, accessibility, and comfort.

Guests snorkel at their own pace and can head back to shore whenever they are ready. The listing names angelfish, parrotfish, snapper, rays and sea turtles. Travelers in 2026 reported a reef shark and sea turtles on some days. Visibility changes with the water: one February 2026 visitor called it very good, while a January 2026 visitor found the fish very hard to spot.

Then the Mangroves, From an Inflatable Kayak

The second half moves to calm inland water for a guided kayak or paddleboard trip. The listing opens it with a short paddling introduction and names manatees in season, turtles, iguanas, fish, rays and coastal birds as the wildlife to watch for. It places the paddle in Fort Lauderdale's mangroves. The listing gives one meeting point, the Dania Beach Pier lot, as both the start and the finish of the day, and does not say where on the water the paddle begins.

The kayaks are inflatable, which the operator states in its own replies to reviews. It calls them light, fast and comfortable; one traveler in January 2026 found them light and not sturdy enough for ocean paddling. Reviewers in 2026 describe paddling past iguanas and a stingray and learning about the plants and animals along the way.

Who Runs It, and Who It Suits

Reviews from 2025 and 2026 name a couple, Thiago and Camila, as the people running it: one leading in the water, the other setting up a shaded tent with chairs, snacks, drinks and music on the beach. A couple in their 60s wrote in March 2026 that they moved at a very comfortable pace, and a family of four in June 2026 wrote that the hosts trained everyone before heading out.

The listing sells tickets for ages 5 through 80 and asks for at least moderate fitness. It does not recommend the tour for travelers with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health, and marks it as not wheelchair accessible. Travelers who were nervous in the water wrote that the guides made sure they were comfortable before heading out deeper.

What the Price Leaves Out

Snorkel gear, flotation vests, sunscreen, bottled water, soft drinks, snacks, an instant photo and a safe place for your things come with the booking. The GoPro photo and video package does not, and the listing gives no price for it. Tips are listed as optional.

The listing's terms give a full refund up to 24 hours before the start and nothing after that, and they make no promise for bad weather. Still, when the sea was too rough to snorkel, travelers in October 2025 and May 2026 wrote that the hosts offered a new date or a kayak trip instead. That comes from reviews, not a written policy.

Meet at the end of the parking lot near the Dania Beach Pier, on North Beach Road in Dania Beach. The listing names the same spot as the finish and notes public transport nearby. After the paddle, it rounds off the day with snacks, drinks and your instant photo.
