Smorgasburg Spookysburg on 10/31: Costumes, Then a Waterfront Sunset
Smorgasburg ends its Williamsburg season on Halloween with tarot readings, energy healing, a scent bar, and costume contests. Leave between 5:20 and 5:30 PM, walk south along Kent Avenue, and reach Domino Park before the 5:53 PM sunset lights the Manhattan skyline.
Spookysburg to Domino Park
🎃 Start with the costume market
Gates open at 11 AM and the market runs until 6 PM. Tarot readings and energy healing sit beside a scent bar, henna artists, a pumpkin painting station, and an alien who writes custom poems. Costume contests run for kids, adults, and the vendors feeding you, and the Prize Boo-nanza adds Brooklyn Nets tickets and gear. Come dressed before noon and eat through the waterfront rows while the stalls are still quiet.

🌇 Walk south before the sun drops
Domino Park sits 0.6 mile south along the same shoreline. Sunset on October 31 lands at 5:53 PM and the park stays open until 11 PM. Leave between 5:20 and 5:30 PM, follow Kent Avenue past the refinery, then climb the elevated walkway for a higher line over the river. The skyline keeps glowing through blue hour, which runs until 6:22 PM.

🗺️ Plan the day as one loop
Two stops, no train required. This is the final Williamsburg market of the year; entry is free and every age is welcome. Domino Park opens daily at 6 AM, and Tacocina inside the park serves until 9 PM. Budget two hours for food and the Halloween tables, then an hour for the waterfront. Bring a jacket for the second half. The wind off the East River drops the temperature quickly once the sun is down.
