Atlanta’s oldest farmhouse depicts 1860s rural life with heirloom gardens, historic buildings, and heritage livestock.
Description

Smith Farm interprets Georgia farm life alongside the history of enslavement, representing an Atlanta-area working slaveholding farm from the 1860s with historic outbuildings relocated here for preservation. Cultivated grounds reflect the era through field crops, an enslaved people’s garden, a kitchen garden, and a swept yard planted with heirloom flowers. Naturalistic native plantings frame the outbuildings, while heritage-breed sheep, goats, chickens, and turkeys live on the property.
