Swap the shoreline for open water with Sail San Diego. Public and private sailboat charters leave from Shelter Island marina, with morning, midday and sunset departures covering different parts of the day. The sunset option puts the bay scenery at the centre of the trip, and the boats offer a clean, comfortable setting for the outing.
Public sailings carry a maximum of six guests, while private charters accommodate up to ten. Morning public sails cost 79 to 94 dollars per person, with sunset tickets at 126 dollars. Complimentary beers, seltzers, sodas and snacks come out on deck. Keep an eye on the water for dolphins and sea lions, both frequently spotted during the outings.
