Skip SUMMIT's Lines With a Guide Through All Three Floors
A SUMMIT Tour Lead takes up to ten guests through all three floors in 90 minutes, skipping the lines at each key checkpoint.
SUMMIT One Vanderbilt stacks three floors of immersive art rooms, glass skyboxes and a café-bar at the top of a Midtown tower, and the regular lines through it can run long. Travelers on this ticket describe walking past waits of an hour or more.
Skip-the-line access covers the entrance, security, the elevators and Levitation, the glass boxes that hang off the building. A SUMMIT Guest Experience Tour Lead takes the group through for 90 minutes, and the ticket adds a digital photo package linked to the SUMMIT wristband you get at entry.

Booking on Viator is one price for everyone 6 and older. Children 5 and under go free with a paying adult, an adult has to be on every booking, and one booking holds up to ten people.

The SUMMIT entrance is on the Main Concourse level of Grand Central Terminal, inside Vanderbilt Passage, with the street address 45 East 42nd Street. Your Tour Lead meets the group at the top of the MTA staircase, directly across from that entrance, and the listing asks you to arrive 15 minutes before your slot because the tour starts on time.
Look for SUMMIT's sign for Premium Experience ticket holders by those stairs. If the guide isn't there, SUMMIT asks you to go to the Welcome Desk rather than join a queue; one traveler was first sent into the regular line before staff pointed them back. If you run late, SUMMIT's FAQ says you can join the tour wherever it is within 15 minutes of the start. Past that, you can drop the guided part and go through on your own, or move to the next tour if it has room.
What the Ninety Minutes Cover

The tour covers SUMMIT's three floors. Air is the art, four chapters of immersive rooms by Kenzo Digital, including an area mirrored across walls, floors and ceilings. Levitation is the two transparent skyboxes more than 1,100 feet above Madison Avenue.
Ascent, the glass elevator that climbs the outside of the tower, is not on SUMMIT's or the listing's inclusion list for this ticket. Two travelers on this tour mention riding it, which may have been an add-on, and SUMMIT sells Ascent tickets on the 93rd floor once you are inside. Après, the café and cocktail bar, is open to you, with food and drinks paid for separately.
Travelers describe the photo package as automated shots plus a short session with a staff photographer, and one group downloaded the set to their phones at the end. Keep the wristband: SUMMIT says its QR code brings the photos up later.
Up to Ten Per Tour, Sometimes With Strangers
SUMMIT caps each Premium tour at ten guests and says smaller groups may be combined, so a party of two can end up touring with people it has never met. The listing gives English as the guiding language.
One traveler's party was joined by another group of four. Another, in a group of eight that included two Spanish speakers, said the group was not held together and the guide was hard to hear over the crowd, so they finished on their own while still skipping the lines. SUMMIT's own blog notes that the group moves through alongside other visitors. Two travelers who are usually scared up high say their guide put them at ease.
Shoes, Bags and Who Can Come
The listing bans stiletto heels, steel-toe boots and sports cleats, and recommends pants, shorts or tights on the glass and mirrored floors. SUMMIT does not allow suitcases, carry-on bags or any bag larger than a standard backpack, purse or messenger bag past security. There is no coat or bag check.
Children under 16 have to stay with an adult for the whole visit. SUMMIT says every level is wheelchair accessible and lends a limited number of wheelchairs, first come, first served. Strollers have to fold for the elevators, and service animals are welcome while pets and emotional support animals are not.
The booking refunds in full up to 24 hours before your slot and not after, and the listing does not cancel for weather, so look at the cloud forecast before that cutoff.
📍 The pin marks SUMMIT One Vanderbilt at 45 East 42nd Street, entered from Grand Central's Main Concourse. Two travelers who booked around sunset credit their guide with getting them to the right spots for the light.
