Skinner Park

Spread across seven acres, the grounds feature a children’s playground, basketball courts, baseball fields, and an open turf for football or soccer. Indoors, a small fieldhouse accommodates table games, while a shared setup with neighboring Whitney Young High School opens up an adjacent gymnasium.

Local activity extends into regular community programming, from workdays and nature lessons at the Community Roots Demonstration Garden to evening movie screenings and an annual fall pumpkin patch. Youth programs run year-round through after-school sessions and a six-week summer day camp.
