Six Dual Ziplines and a 360-Foot Suspension Bridge Above Kapalua

Every line here carries two cables, which puts a second rider level with you from the first platform.

Plan a dual zipline day above Kapalua.

Kapalua Ziplines runs a two-mile course over a tropical valley on Maui's west side, with ocean in view for most of the way down. Six lines, and each one is strung as a pair.

The cable is part of it. You also cross a 360-foot suspension bridge on foot and ride an ATV along a rainforest trail between platforms. The whole tour runs 210 minutes from check-in, guided in English, shared with up to ten travelers.

Departures run from the Kapalua Ziplines office on Office Road, and everyone meets there. Tickets are dated and timed, and the weigh-in happens before the group heads up.

What a Dual Line Changes

Most zipline courses send riders down one cable at a time. Kapalua Ziplines describes this as the only all-dual-line course on Maui, with two cables on every one of the six lines.

Who you ride with is what changes. Two people launch together, and the group stays at ten travelers or fewer for the full 210 minutes. Guides run the tour in English, and the operator asks that riders be able to take direction from them verbally.

The six lines come to about two miles of cable.

The Bridge and the Trail Between Lines

There is ground to cover between the cables. A 360-foot suspension bridge carries the group across on foot, and Kapalua Ziplines calls it the longest suspension bridge in Hawaii. An ATV ride-a-long moves you along a rainforest trail between platforms.

That mix is what fills three and a half hours. The whole course sits outdoors, from the weigh-in to the last line. Anyone allergic to insect stings is asked to carry their own medication.

Who the Course Takes

Kapalua Ziplines publishes its limits as numbers, and it checks them at the office before the tour starts.

  • Minimum 60 pounds, minimum 4 feet tall.
  • Maximum 250 pounds fully dressed with shoes, weighed at check-in, with no refund for anyone over.

Getting There, and What It Costs

Tours start and end at the office, and there is no hotel pickup. Check in 30 minutes before your tour time. Coming from the Kihei or Wailea side of the island, the operator asks you to allow 90 minutes for the drive.

Cancel at least 24 hours before your departure time for a full refund. Bad weather or too few travelers can also cancel a departure, and the operator offers another date or a full refund when that happens.
