Sitka's Ghost-Story Pub Crawl Goes Inside a Members-Only Club

Two hours of Sitka ghost lore and three included drinks, from a members-only club to an old Lincoln Street saloon.

Haunted Sitka is a locally owned outfit, and this is its adults-only walk through downtown Sitka. The founder, Emily Davis, says she spent more than two decades as an educator, school psychologist and university instructor before starting the company, and recent traveler reviews name her as their guide. The tour opens with a story outside Harrigan Centennial Hall, where the cruise shuttle drops off, then takes the group to three bars and through the back streets in between, pointing out buildings with haunted histories. Each stop pours one included drink, and the listing schedules about thirty minutes at each.

The stories mix ghosts with local history about soldiers, fishermen and pioneers, plus a murder from the late 1800s that the listing places at the last bar. The listing says bartenders along the way share their own encounters with the ghosts they work with.

Everyone on the booking has to be 21 or older, and the guide checks ID at sign-in. Bring a valid photo ID; the listing allows no exceptions to the 21 and over rule. Guests are also asked not to drink before the tour starts, and everyone signs a waiver. The booking form asks cruise passengers for their ship and its arrival time, though the operator says the tour is open to anyone visiting Sitka, including travelers who arrive by ferry or plane or are staying in town.

The First Stop Is a Members-Only Club

The first stop is a private club that is otherwise open to members only. The listing's stop data places it at the Moose Lodge on Lincoln Street. The operator says the building has been part of Sitka since 1901 and hosted dances for servicemen and local residents during World War II, and the listing adds that it was once a secret gambling hall in the early territory days.

The first included drink is poured here, with stories about the soldiers who passed through the club. Moose International's rules for its lodges say adult guests must be signed in and leave when the member who brought them leaves, and only active members can make purchases. Members and guests, the operator says, have reported filmy figures drifting through the rooms.

A Fishermen's Bar, Then an Old Lincoln Street Saloon

Stop two sits past the Russian Cemetery, at a fishermen's bar where fishing photographs cover nearly every inch of wall space; the listing maps it to Pioneer Bar on Katlian Street. Stop three is the old-time saloon the listing calls the scene of an infamous murder from the late 1800s, mapped to Ernie's Old Time Saloon on Lincoln Street.

The operator says that saloon is the home of the Duck Fart shot and keeps an antique cash register on display; Imbibe magazine says lore traces the shot itself to the Peanut Farm, an Anchorage bar, in 1987. Any extra drinks are on your own tab, and the last bar takes cash only. Bartenders there, the operator adds, tell their own stories of unexplained footsteps and shadowy figures.

What the Ticket Covers, and What You Pay On Your Own

The listing includes the first drink at each of the three stops, and says some of the bars created specialty cocktails served only to guests on this tour. Gratuities are not included, and neither is food. The operator says food carts stand by the first and last stops, and you can bring that food inside.

Not drinking is an option. The operator says non-alcoholic choices are available, though the 21 and over rule still covers everyone on the booking.

Half a Mile on Foot, Rain or Shine

The listing puts the walking at about half a mile, with stairs of up to ten steps at a time, and asks for at least a moderate level of fitness. The operator adds at least one hill and frequent stops along the way. The tour is not wheelchair accessible, and the listing does not recommend it for pregnant travelers or anyone with poor cardiovascular health.

Tours run rain or shine. The operator recommends layers, a waterproof rain jacket and comfortable walking shoes.

📍 Meet outside Harrigan Centennial Hall, 330 Harbor Drive, where the free shuttle from the Sitka Sound Cruise Terminal drops off downtown. Look for a guide in a blue or teal jacket holding a Haunted Pub Crawl sign at the side of the building, and leave enough time for the shuttle ride.

  • As of October 21, 2026, the booking calendar shows no more departures in 2026. The 2027 dates run from May 5 to September 15, start between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, and fall on selected weekdays only.
  • Through this listing, cancel at least 24 hours before departure for a full refund. The operator's own site uses a 48-hour cutoff for direct bookings.

The operator says the tour was built around cruise port times, with room to get back to the shuttle before all aboard. What you leave with is a set of Sitka stories tied to buildings you would otherwise walk right past.
