Description

Standing on Fayetteville Street since 1923, this ten-story brick structure was once so central to state politics that it earned the nickname Third House of the Legislature. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, the building has since transitioned into a HUD-subsidized senior living community. Visitors now primarily interact with the property through the Historic Virginia Dare Ballroom, which remains available for public rentals and community gatherings.
