Sip Regional Coffee, Settle Into Hong Kong Comfort
Compare Yemeni, Palestinian, and Guatemalan coffee traditions with SoHo’s Colombian and Ethiopian pours, then settle into Hong Kong comfort food in Little Neck. Expect distinct rhythms, from social conversation to self-directed counter dining.
Three Cafe Styles
Brooklyn Offline Social Pause
At 799 Manhattan Avenue, MOKAFÉ pairs Yemeni, Palestinian, and Guatemalan coffee traditions with a spacious, styled interior. Single-origin beans share the menu with cardamom lattes and spiced mushroom chagaccinos. The sweets range from baklava to pistachio tres leches cake and pudding parfaits. Plenty of seating makes room for conversation, while laptops are not allowed. Hours are 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Friday through Sunday.

SoHo Retail Pause in Wood
At 31 Howard Street, neutral tones and clean wood lines frame a cafe-boutique with curated apparel. Single-origin Colombian and Ethiopian pour-overs share the counter with espresso, matcha, and tomato croissants. An indoor olive tree anchors low-profile seating. The soundtrack leans toward louder house and experimental music. Low tables make the space not super WFH friendly. Plan a short stop or offline time. Hours start at 7:00 AM weekdays and 8:00 AM weekends, closing at 6:00 PM daily.

Daytime Diner Rhythm
Marathon Cafe brings traditional Hong Kong comfort food to Little Neck with beef noodle soup in an intense tomato broth, Hong Kong French toast, and fish ball rice rolls. English and Chinese menus frame a self-directed visit. Order at the counter, collect your utensils, and staff bring generous portions to the table. The cafe offers walk-in seating. Hours are 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday and Tuesday and Thursday through Sunday. It is closed Wednesday.
