Signal Hill Reservation
4.7 (13)park
A brief climb opens to Boston skyline views, while riverbank trails lead down to a quiet launch on the Neponset.
Description

A former cart path leads to the 188-foot crest, where open grass looks out toward Great Blue Hill. Across the 150-acre grounds, the land holds deep regional history, having served as a seasonal home for Indigenous people as the last glacier retreated from the valley. Overhead, air currents between the ridge and the river draw birders to watch hawks riding thermal drafts. Down along the bank, the launch offers the only easy river access for quite a distance, whether setting out on the Neponset or pausing during a paddle.
