Goodfoot stacks two moods on top of each other. Upstairs opens daily at 5pm, and the early hours belong to the pool tables, the pinball machines, and a rotating gallery wall of local art. Bar food and a 5 to 8pm happy hour hold the room while the light drops. Around 9pm the basement doors open, and the downstairs lounge becomes one of the most dependable dance floors in Southeast Portland, dark and low-ceilinged, with DJs on the turntables and live bands crowding the small stage. Everyone here is 21 and up, the volume stays high, and most nights run to 2:30am. Rack a quiet game of eight-ball early, then drift down for the horns and the beats.
