Designed after the tsunami swept away the original district, the area was planned as a shared gathering space connecting everyday local life and tourism. The central brick path leads out toward the sea, carrying a crucial dual purpose: during emergencies, it serves as a direct evacuation route to higher ground.

The rebuilt district hosts water-facing eateries serving fresh local seafood alongside tranquil spots for quiet reflection. Positioned right where the train line ends near Onagawa Onsen Yupo'po, it balances a clean, modern coastal town atmosphere with a lasting testament to the town's recovery.
