Description

Spanning 190 acres across northwest Vashon, the preserve encompasses Shinglemill Creek as it flows north from Fisher Pond to Puget Sound. Walkers on the 2.5-mile path can connect with Bill's Trail at the halfway point to form an uphill loop along the valley wall. At the water's edge, Fern Cove provides a spot for viewing shorebirds, with coho salmon returning to spawn typically in November and December after heavy rains. The area is co-managed with the Vashon-Maury Island Land Trust.
