Sherwood Recreation Center

Across two stories in DC's Ward 6 corridor, the facility pairs practical indoor spaces with varied outdoor grounds. Inside, the building houses a gym, fitness room, multipurpose and game areas, and a full kitchen. Outside, recreation extends across tennis and basketball courts, a community garden, and a small track for running and walking. The grounds also feature a “Mound”-themed playground designed around multiple concurrent play zones, with interactive live instruments and an active human sundial oriented toward toddlers and children.
