Description

Spanning 57.70 acres, Sherman Park stands as one of the country's earliest urban parks. At its north end, classical fieldhouse, gym, and locker structures linked by pergolas reflect the civic architecture of Daniel H. Burnham and Co., complementing grounds shaped by the Olmsted Brothers.

Beyond the water, the open grounds accommodate broad recreation, housing tennis and basketball courts, a swimming pool, a fitness center, and updated playgrounds alongside East and West gymnasiums. Plentiful picnic spots and open walking paths make it equally suited for a quiet stroll or birdwatching by the bank.
