Shake Your Own Cocktail at Vegas's Cabinet of Curiosities Bar
A 90-minute hands-on mixology class in a lounge on the lower level of Horseshoe Las Vegas: watch two cocktails made, then build your own at a workstation.
The Cabinet of Curiosities is a bar and lounge on the lower level of Horseshoe Las Vegas, with a hidden speakeasy called The Lock inside it. Thursday through Sunday it also runs a 90-minute Mixology Masterclass at 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
The class works in two halves. A mixologist first makes two cocktails and talks through the history, technique and flavors behind them while you taste. Then you move to a workstation stocked with spirits, mixers and garnishes and build a drink of your own.
The ticket covers three cocktails, use of the bar tools, a souvenir apron and a recipe card, with fees and taxes inside the listed price. Hotel pickup is not part of it, and every guest must be 21 or older.

The session includes three cocktails: a tasting of two that the mixologist prepares while explaining the stories, ingredients and techniques behind each, then the drink you mix, shake and garnish yourself.
The bar's class page sets out what the session covers: the essential tools and terminology, how to balance flavors, building a signature drink, and garnish and presentation.
The class is pitched at beginners as well as people who already mix at home.
Themes Rotate by the Week
The spirit changes with the calendar. Three themes rotate through the calendar: Prohibition Cocktails built on whiskey and bourbon (November 5 to 8, November 26 to 29, December 17 to 20), The Art of the Agave with tequila (November 12 to 15, December 3 to 6), and a rum-based Tiki session (November 19 to 22, December 10 to 13).
On any given day, the 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM classes share the same theme. The bar notes that themes are set in advance and can shift for operational needs, events or group requests.
Dates after December 20 are also available. The bar had not posted themes for those yet.
21 and Over, Photo ID, and No Refunds
Every guest has to be at least 21. The bar requires each guest to present a valid photo ID for entry.
All sales are final and a cancellation gets no refund. The bar's own page describes a one-time courtesy reschedule for reservations made directly with it at least four days ahead; that policy is written for its direct bookings.
One booking covers up to 14 travelers. For a private session, the bar asks groups to email it for group pricing. The class is not recommended for pregnant travelers.
Arrive Ten Minutes Early
The bar asks guests to arrive at least 10 minutes before the start to register, and it cannot let anyone in once the class is 15 minutes underway. The lounge itself opens at 2:00 PM every day, so an early arrival can wait at the bar.
The class is wheelchair accessible, with accessible surfaces throughout.

Reviews so far are short and warm. One guest wrote in November 2025 that the mixologist "was able to educate us in a way that everyone could understand and follow along."
The 8:00 PM class wraps up around 9:30 PM, and the lounge runs a reverse happy hour from 9:00 PM to close every night, so you can stay on at the same bar with the new apron still on.
