Seven Nashville Evenings, From the Opry to a Million Lights

Six Nashville stages and one garden of lights. Each night keeps a single setting, so the week reads as a change of scale — pews, a rock club, a bowling alley, a mile of holiday lights, a century-old radio show — rather than a list of gigs.

Plan the week one night at a time.

🎻 Monday, Songwriter Night at the Ryman

Monday begins at the Ryman, a former church where the pews still shape how a benefit bill sounds. Drake White tops a songwriter-led night, and the balcony carries the room's clearest sound. The 7:30 pm start leaves the afternoon free, and the entrance sits a short walk from Broadway's honky-tonk strip.

🎸 Tuesday, Rock in a Wooden Shell

Tuesday returns to the Ryman for a rock bill inside the same wooden shell. Manchester Orchestra plays a full-band set, and the room rewards a seat farther back, where the drums stop crowding the guitars. Take the 7:30 pm start into account when pairing the night with dinner downtown, and keep the ticket ready at the door.

🥁 Wednesday, Tribute Drums at The Truth

Wednesday moves to The Truth, a smaller room where a tribute act can play loud without losing detail. Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Evening runs the catalogue at 8 pm, and standing near the mix desk keeps the drums readable. Check the door time printed on the ticket before setting out, because club schedules shift later than the listed start.

🎳 Thursday, Early Set at Eastside Bowl

Thursday is the early one. Eastside Bowl pairs a bowling alley with a stage, and Akeem Ali plays the 2 pm slot. Leave time to bowl before the set, since the lanes and the music floor share one building. This is the day to keep loose, with the whole evening still open afterwards.

🎄 Friday, Holiday Lights at Cheekwood

Friday steps off the stage. Cheekwood opens its Holiday LIGHTS season with a one-mile trail through the estate gardens, lit by more than a million bulbs along a paved, barrier-free path. Adult tickets run $26–$32 and youth $20–$26, parking is $5 a car for non-members, and the walk runs rain or shine, so dress for a cold evening.

📻 Saturday, The Opry's Century Show

Saturday hands the week back to the Opry, which has run its stage show for a century and still books a rotating cast each night. The OPRY 100 run keeps the radio-era format intact, one host and short sets by a long bill on a 7 pm start. Book ahead and allow the extra drive out to Opryland before doors.

⚡ Sunday, A Loud Finish at Category 10

Sunday closes at Category 10, a downtown venue with a stage built for loud touring acts. Imminence brings the Axis Mundi tour, and the floor is standing room from the first bar. Read the age policy on the ticket before committing, then end the week in a room that sounds nothing like Monday's.
