Description

Sitting just east of the historic Water Tower Pumping Station, this one-acre plot is anchored by Debra Butterfield's horse sculpture Ben, which is composed of bronze but looks as though made of wood. Its playground honors restaurateur Eli M. Schulman, who actively promoted recreation for children, while shaded paths cross ground that was permanently separated from Lake Shore Playground when a state armory went up between them in 1915.
