Sedona by Van, from Holy Cross Chapel to Airport Mesa

A narrated van loop around Sedona that stops twice: at the Chapel of the Holy Cross and the overlook on Airport Mesa.

This two-and-a-half-hour van tour starts at the operator's lot in Uptown Sedona and gets you out of your seat twice. The first stop is the Chapel of the Holy Cross and the second is the scenic overlook on Airport Mesa, about twenty minutes each.

Those two stops take forty of the 150 minutes; the rest is narration from a climate-controlled van.

The listing counts the driving in the total. Along the way the guide covers Sedona's history, geology, plants, wildlife and Native American history.

This booking is the shared 150-minute tour with an English-speaking guide, leaving at 9:00 AM, 1:00 PM or 3:00 PM. The adult rate starts at age 13. The "5 Stars" in its name refers to its reviews: as of October 20, 2026, 623 of the 651 on record were five stars.

Twenty Minutes at the Chapel of the Holy Cross

Parking is the hard part of visiting the chapel on your own. The chapel's visitor page lists 45 spaces, with a turnaround at the top of the hill for dropping people off, and the listing's pitch for this stop is that the van takes you to the entrance.

Travelers back that up. One in September 2025 wrote that parking is very limited and the walk in is steep, and that the guide drove right to the doorstep. Another, in March 2025, liked being dropped in front of the chapel without needing to climb up.

You get about twenty minutes here, enough to see the chapel and take photos, with little time to linger.

The chapel is open 9 AM to 5 PM, with last entry at 4:45 PM. On Wednesdays and Fridays it holds adoration from noon to 3 PM and Mass at 3 PM, so an afternoon departure on those days may arrive during a service.

The Last Stop Is the View From Airport Mesa

The sightseeing ends at the scenic overlook at 538 Airport Road, on Airport Mesa, with another twenty minutes there. Replying to a review, the operator wrote that many people call it the best view in town.

The listing marks admission here as included, and parking fees are on its list of inclusions. Sedona Airport's site puts overlook parking at USD 3 a car for visitors who drive up on their own.

Several travelers mention the guide taking their photos at the stops and showing them which camera settings bring out the red in the rock.

What You See Through the Window

Most of the tour is the drive itself. The listing's route starts with Snoopy Rock from Uptown, passes Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village without stopping, runs along the red rock range for Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte, and later crosses West Sedona for Thunder Mountain and the teal McDonald's.

Expect an orientation built on stories and local tips, with two short walks at the stops.

Several travelers wrote that they left with a list of restaurants, trails and shops to try on their own. A few wanted more scenery and less town: one in June 2026 expected red rocks and got talk of the shopping center and places to eat, and another in October 2023 wished for more natural viewpoints and fewer town places.

Car Seats, Strollers and Short Walks

Children's car seats are on you. The operator does not provide them and asks families to bring their own car seat or booster, citing Arizona's car seat law; its tour page applies this to children eight and younger.

The operator says the tour is not wheelchair or stroller accessible, even though the booking page ticks a box saying infants can ride in a pram or stroller.

The walking is short. Travelers in 2023 and 2024 said the tour suited relatives who cannot walk far, and one wrote that her mother stayed in the van at the stops. At the chapel, golf carts can help visitors reach the ramp, and the chapel keeps wheelchairs for visitors to use. The van carries cold bottled water, and tips are not included.

📍 Park in the rear lot at the operator's office, 450 Jordan Road in Uptown Sedona. The guide and van meet you there and bring you back to the same lot.

The operator's FAQ says it picks guests up at hotels, Airbnbs and homes inside Sedona, and travelers in 2023 and 2024 describe being collected at their hotel. Its tours page and its own booking calendar list only the office lot, with no pickup, and this listing is set up the same way. Guests staying in town without a car can raise it in the special requirements box at booking.

Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for a full refund; inside 24 hours there is no refund. The booking also lets the operator call off a departure for poor weather or too few travelers.

Take the 9:00 AM departure on your first day, and the afternoon is free for the trails and restaurants the guide points out.
