Seattle to Woodinville for Wine Grown Across the Cascades

A guided day from your Seattle-area lodging to Woodinville's wineries and tasting rooms, a half-hour drive across Lake Washington.

Taste Woodinville wines from Seattle.

The listing counts more than 125 wineries in Woodinville to choose from. Vines are another matter. The region's wine association says the grapes grow in vineyards east of the Cascades and throughout Washington, then travel across the mountains to Woodinville, where much of the winemaking happens. What you visit are tasting rooms and the cellars behind them. The guide chooses the stops around the wines your group likes and does all the driving, which leaves everyone free to taste.

The booking below is priced per person and includes pickup from your lodging. The price covers the ride and the guide; tastings are paid at each winery, and lunch is bought on site.

The Listing Shows Three Stops, the Operator Plans Four

The booking page lays out three stops: a larger flagship winery first, a smaller winery where lunch can be bought, then a small family-owned boutique room. The operator's FAQ calls four wineries or tasting rooms a normal day, and replying to a traveler's August 2026 review it said it has settled on four, with the second one as the lunch break. Travelers who counted in 2025 and 2026 report four, apart from one couple who chose to stop after three. Three travelers writing between September 2025 and January 2026 named Chateau Ste. Michelle as one of their stops, though it is not fixed: its own site lists the tasting room as closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and one traveler who asked for it in 2026 was offered a new date when it turned out to be closed on the first. Each stop typically pours four to five one-ounce tastes, sometimes more, and the operator says sharing a flight with your companion is fine.

Where the Wine Is Made, Hours From Where It Grows

The operator puts the vineyards three to five hours away across the Cascades. In Western Washington, it writes, you mostly find tasting rooms, with the winemaking going on in some of the back rooms. In a 2022 reply it placed its boutique stops in the Warehouse District and Artisan Hill, and said the distances between them are not quite walkable. The operator adds a look at a winemaking facility where possible, and says it cannot promise a winemaker will be there to meet the group. Travelers in 2023 and 2025 each describe a winery owner walking their group through production. A few arrived expecting vineyard views and said so in their reviews. The views on this day are barrels, tanks and tasting bars.

You Pay Each Winery for Tastings and Buy Your Own Lunch

The listing covers the vehicle, the guide and a custom route. Each winery charges its own tasting fee, paid on the spot, and many reduce or waive it when you buy a bottle. The operator's pages quote tasting fees in ranges that run from 15 to 40 dollars per person at each winery, depending on the page, with reserve tastings extra where offered, and suggest budgeting 15 to 30 dollars for lunch. Two travelers in fall 2025 put a tasting at 20 to 30 dollars. Plan to pay at every stop. Lunch is bought at or beside the second one; one traveler's group ate at an Italian restaurant next door to one of the wineries. Tips for the guide are up to you, and the operator says they go entirely to the guide.

Adults 21 and Up, and Steep Steps Into the Coach

Every seat is an adult seat: the listing sells to travelers 21 and over only, and does not recommend the tour during pregnancy. The listing warns of steep steps into and out of the coach, and into some tasting rooms, and the operator has called the coach's first step quite high. In 2025 it chose an SUV to make boarding easier for one traveler's spouse; the traveler noted that neither of them could have managed the SUV's third row. The booking page as archived in August 2025 also marked the tour as not wheelchair accessible. One booking takes up to twelve travelers, and groups in travelers' accounts range from a couple who had the guide to themselves to a party of eleven friends. The listing allows service animals.

🚐 Pickup is from lodging in downtown Seattle and on the Eastside. The day before, the operator emails your pickup time and your guide's name and contact details; its FAQ puts pickups generally between 10:00 AM and 10:30 AM. Fill in the wine-preference request in your confirmation. The operator builds the stops from it. The listing has you back at your starting point around 5:30 PM and the operator's FAQ says before 5:00 PM; keep the evening free until 5:30 PM. A full refund needs at least 24 hours' notice. Bottles you buy ride back with you in the vehicle, and the last leg is the drive across Lake Washington to your door.
