Seattle's Sunday Swing Social Includes Free Beginner Lessons

Ease into West Coast Swing with a free beginner lesson and a social mix of R&B, funk, and blues.

Start with the beginner lesson.

🪩 Start With the Lesson

First time dancers can start with the free beginner lesson, then try West Coast Swing without arriving with a routine memorized. The Seattle club meets at Alki Masonic Hall in West Seattle on the first and third Sunday of each month, from four PM to nine thirty PM. Lessons pair with social dancing to rhythm and blues and funk, giving beginners room to practice and find a groove that feels comfortable. For newcomers, free beginner lessons are part of the program, a clear way onto the floor.

Workshops and competitions add options beyond the social set, while the club remains a local nonprofit gathering. For a first outing, check the session details before setting off, and consider starting with the lesson rather than trying to learn every step from watching the floor. The program includes West Coast Swing instruction and music that can shift through classic and contemporary pop as well as hip hop. Its history as a local nonprofit reaches back to 1965, giving this West Seattle dance community a long local run.
