Seattle Haunted Pub Crawl Across Historic Pike Place Market Bars

Drinks are on you, the stories are not. An evening walk through Pike Place Market's bars, stairwells and back alleys.

Plan a haunted pub crawl through Pike Place Market.

Check-in is fifteen minutes before the listed start time, inside the Taproom at Pike Place. Your guide is the one in the steampunk costume, standing just inside the front door on the right.

From there the group stays on foot for two to two and a half hours. Alcohol is not included, and every round is settled at the bar by whoever ordered it. The ticket buys the route, the guide, and the telling.

Nightly Spirits runs this one in English with a live guide. Everyone meets at a single point and walks the whole route together.

One booking takes up to six travelers. The order of the drink stops shifts with what is open on the night.

Most of the Walk Is Spent Sitting in Bars

The published itinerary lists three drink stops, each scheduled at thirty minutes. That is ninety minutes of a tour the operator puts at two to two and a half hours, which leaves roughly an hour of actual walking. The first stop is the meeting point itself. The drinking starts before the walking does.

The itinerary describes the second stop as a room with an overhead view of Pike Place Market, and reaches the third by way of the Gum Wall, with time left for pictures. Venue names are not published in advance, and the operator notes that route and drink stops depend on availability.

The Market Buildings Are the Script

Nightly Spirits states on its booking page that it is permitted and licensed by the Pike Place Market Preservation and Development Authority to run paid tours inside the market's historical district. By that account the PDA requires pre-approval and a license for anyone charging for a tour on its properties or in the public areas of the district.

The walk stays inside that district. Stalls after closing, service stairwells, and the alley behind them carry the storytelling that a lecture room would carry somewhere else.

Twenty-One and Over, With a Photo ID

Every guest needs to be twenty-one or older with a valid photo ID. The operator prints that twice on the booking page, once in the description and once in the check-in instructions.

Two further conditions sit in the same block:

  • Service animals are allowed.
  • Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness.

Getting There, and What Happens If You Run Late

The market sits four blocks from both the Westlake Sound Transit Link Light Rail Station and the Symphony Light Rail Station. Pike Place Market Garage is the operator's suggestion for anyone driving, along with a warning that parking is hard to find.

The guide waits about twenty minutes after the start time, and the operator lists 844-678-8687 for late arrivals. Missing the group at the first stop makes catching up difficult, and a tour missed that way is not eligible for a refund or a reschedule. Cancelling at least twenty-four hours ahead returns the full amount. The operator also reserves the right to cancel a departure that does not reach its minimum number of travelers.

📍 The pin on this page marks Pike Place Market. Check-in is at the Taproom at Pike Place, 1525 1st Ave #16, and the walk stays inside the market from there.

It ends at Kells Irish Restaurant & Bar, still in the market. Whoever is still talking by then tends to stay for one more round, and the light rail stations are four blocks away when the group is ready to break up.
