The renovation post describes vintage objects found inside the walls at Seattle Art Museum, or SAM. Carry that curiosity into galleries pairing ancient artifacts with bold contemporary work.
Look for the contrast between Goya prints and towering modern sculptures. The museum also brings cedar, plastic film, and discarded electronics into its contemporary art. In the lobby, a suspended sculptural form stretches through a tall, windowed space.
Give the collection room to breathe at 1300 1st Ave. Thursday hours run from 10am to 8pm, compared with 10am to 5pm on Wednesday and Friday through Sunday.
