Broadway keeps moving outside. Gumption Coffee offers a quieter pocket of Flatiron at 940 Broadway, with large windows facing the street and a comfortable lounge area inside. Bring your laptop for a stretch of work, or leave the screen alone and watch the neighborhood pass by. Smooth espresso, seasonal lattes and matcha give you a few ways to settle into the afternoon.
The baked treats are almost entirely gluten free, though specific ingredients still need confirming with the staff when allergens affect your order. Choose a pastry alongside your drink, then take your time over it. Outdoor seating offers another place to pause, away from the lounge and closer to the street.
The cafe opens Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 6 PM, with shorter weekend hours on both Saturday and Sunday, when doors open at 9 AM and close at 4 PM.
