Seaplane Flights Put the Space Needle Below You

Fly from Lake Union on a solo daytime detour above the Seattle skyline.

Take your afternoon airborne.

✈️ A City Below Your Feet

Give a solo afternoon a different altitude. Seattle Seaplanes leaves from Lake Union for views of the Space Needle, Ballard Locks, and the downtown skyline. The city does a fairly convincing impression of a model from up here, with water doing much of the framing.

The scenic option is a 20 minute flight, a compact airborne detour rather than an entire day given over to sightseeing. Its 31 mile route also takes in the University of Washington and the estate of Bill Gates. Head to 1325 Fairview Ave E for the departure point.

The operation opens Monday through Saturday at 8 AM and Sunday at 9 AM, closing at sunset throughout the week. Keep this one for daylight, with the rest of the day left on the ground. Beyond the sightseeing circuit, it also offers dinner flights to neighboring islands, private charters, and seaplane flight training.
