Sea Maui Surf

Operating directly on the sand of Kaʻanapali Beach, this school manages the transition from land to sea with a 4:1 student ratio. Instructors begin each session with a mandatory ocean safety briefing and ground-based basics, ensuring students understand the mechanics of paddling and standing before entering the water. In the surf, the coaching remains continuous, with instructors guiding the timing of wave catches and providing immediate feedback. Beyond structured lessons, the site offers stand-up paddleboard rentals, with equipment including soft-top boards, rash guards, and booties included for those taking instruction. Private coaching is available for all ages, while group lessons are restricted to those 13 and older, with a baseline requirement that all participants be able to swim.
