Navy Pier's Front Lawn

At the lakefront entrance to Navy Pier, Polk Bros Park spreads across thirteen acres. Friends can bring a picnic to the lawns or stroll with a drink. Dedicated stages provide space for performances. The fountain serves as a splash pad in summer. In winter, it becomes an ice rink. Closing time is midnight on Friday and Saturday, and 8:00 PM on other days. Restrooms are on the pier.

Two Ways to Gather Outdoors

Millennium Park gives a gathering an art and architecture focus, with Cloud Gate, garden paths and the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. Polk Bros Park turns the emphasis toward the lakefront, where lawns, performance spaces and a seasonal fountain frame time together. Both offer room for friends outdoors, but their surroundings set different moods. The first pairs conversation with cultural landmarks, while the second puts a picnic beside the activity at Navy Pier's entrance.
