4.6 (351)park
A rugged nature preserve where forest trails descend rocky bluffs to a scenic waterfall emptying into the Potomac.
Description

Carved by the Potomac River, the preserve encompasses floodplains, narrow valleys, and steep cliffs. Hiking here involves challenging trails across rugged terrain, leading past seasonal displays of rare spring wildflowers carpeting the forest floor. Deeper within the woods stands a grove of ancient hemlocks whose ancestors migrated during the last ice age.
