Description

Dedicated in 1944 and named for Herman J. Scherer, the park stretches between Long Beach Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue. Beside an overlook and cascade on Atlantic Avenue, the grounds offer picnic areas, a playground, and space for family activities. Sports amenities include four tennis courts, a baseball diamond, and basketball and volleyball courts, alongside a weight room and a recreation building with a multi-purpose room. While well-liked for walking and gatherings, visitors note the park can get crowded or messy at times.
