A Savannah Night Ghost Walk Past the Mercer House and Old Candler

Two hours and about half a mile on foot from the corner of Abercorn and Jones, with a 7:00 PM start for all ages and later starts for 16 and up.

6th Sense World runs this two-hour night walk from the corner of Abercorn and Jones past the houses behind some of Savannah's best-known ghost stories. The stories gather around the blocks near Abercorn and Jones: a mansion tied to an early X-ray pioneer, a hospital the listing bills as Georgia's first, and a house the listing calls one of the city's most infamous.

The operator puts the route at about half a mile over two hours, so plan for a steady pace on foot.

Every stop on the listing is seen from the sidewalk. Some of the houses are still private homes, and a traveler in October 2026 noted the guide's respect for residences where people still live.

Book either version through the card below. Children 4 to 15 can join only the 7:00 PM walk; the later starts are for 16 and up. The operator prices tickets at $36 for ages 16 and up and $32 for ages 4 to 15. Cancel at least 24 hours ahead for a full refund.

Meet on the Corner Outside Clary's Cafe

📍 The group meets at the corner of Abercorn and Jones streets. The operator gives Clary's Cafe, 404 Abercorn Street, as the GPS landmark, and its booking notes add that the cafe will be closed when the walk starts. The listing describes Clary's as the restaurant made famous by Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, and says the walk begins and ends outside it.

Arrive five to ten minutes early and look for a guide wearing a 6th Sense World badge. Park on the street. The operator says cars left in Clary's own lot will be towed.

There are no restrooms at the start, at the finish or anywhere along the route. Travelers who walked it between April and October 2026 kept raising the same point. Plan a stop beforehand.

The Houses on the List, and the Line Printed Under It

The listing names the Corson Mansion, tied to Dr. Eugene Corson, whom it calls an early pioneer of X-ray technology; Old Candler Hospital, billed as Georgia's first hospital; the Espy House, with a Prohibition-era story of crime, corruption and murder; and an original square it calls a reminder that Savannah was built on top of its dead. The operator's own list adds the Mercer House, names that square as Taylor Square and adds the morgue tunnels at Old Candler.

All of them are passed from outside. A traveler in May 2026 described the walk as passing "places like the Corson Mansion, Mercer Williams House, and Taylor Square."

Under its list, the operator prints a caveat. Some sites may not be covered, depending on the guide, other tour crowds, or legal time restrictions on certain sites under Savannah law.

Two Versions, Split by Age and Hour

The 7:00 PM walk is the one open to all ages. The 8:00 PM and 9:30 PM starts are sold as an adults-only version, and the listing counts anyone 16 or older as an adult. Both versions run for two hours from the same corner.

Late starts sell out on busy nights, including the 8:00 PM walk on Halloween this year, so check the calendar before you settle on a time.

The operator notes that start times shift with the season.

Rain or Shine, No Flash, and Bug Spray

The walk goes ahead rain or shine unless conditions turn unsafe, and a traveler in July 2025 reported their tour carrying on through a storm. The operator asks for no flash photography at night and no video recording at all. It also says city ordinance bars smoking on tours, and only service animals may come.

Bring water, bug spray and good walking shoes. The operator lists all three, and summer reviewers repeat the advice about bug spray.

The operator says all sidewalks and parks on the route have handicap access. The listing marks the walk wheelchair accessible, with all surfaces accessible. It also asks for at least a moderate level of fitness and does not recommend it for travelers with poor cardiovascular health or spinal injuries.

📍 The walk starts and ends at the corner of Abercorn and Jones, outside Clary's Cafe at 404 Abercorn Street.

Tips are not included; the operator's notes put the usual amount at 15 to 20 percent. The 24-hour refund rule belongs to this booking; the operator's own direct sales are final unless trip protection is bought.

By the end, the group is back where it started, on the corner outside Clary's.
