Savannah's Ghost Stories Come With a Bar Tab and a Pirate Guide

A costumed guide walks you between haunted Savannah barrooms. The stories are included. The drinks are not.

Catch a pirate-led ghost walk in Savannah.

Nightly Spirits runs this as two things at once. Part ghost walk through the old blocks above the river, part bar crawl behind a guide in full pirate costume.

The ticket buys the walk, the stories and the guide. It does not buy the drinks. Every round at every stop is yours to pay for, and everyone in the group has to be 21 or over with valid ID. Pricing starts at USD 39.92 per person.

Where It Starts Depends on the Day You Book

The listing gives two starting points. Monday through Saturday the walk leaves from Tandem Coffee and Spirits at 225 East Bay Street. On Sundays it begins at the Savannah Taphouse on East Broughton Street.

The booking calendar here only opens Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, which leaves the Sunday start described on the page and not sold on it. Monday and Thursday run one group at 7:30 PM. Friday and Saturday add a second departure at 8:00 PM. The walk finishes down near River Street.

Three Hours on Foot, Over Old Stone

The listing carries two different lengths. The booking field sets the tour at three hours. The inclusions line on the same page calls it a two and a half hour walk. Plan around the three hour figure, which is the one the booking field commits to.

This is a walk over brick, cobble and ramped lanes. The listing asks for at least a moderate level of physical fitness and notes it is not recommended for travelers with mobility problems.

The Spirits Are Both Kinds

The route stops at several bars the company calls both historic and haunted, with time at each to order and drink. The stories come in between. Which bars you get is not fixed, and the listing says the route and the drink stops depend on availability.

The tour holds 4.88 from 1,264 reviews.

Before You Book

Service animals are allowed, and public transportation runs nearby. A full refund needs a cancellation at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time. One booking takes up to six travelers, and the listing sells up to sixteen seats on a shared departure.

The walk ends down near River Street, which is where the guide leaves you and the rest of the night starts.
