Santa Monica Sand to Hollywood Handprints, No Car Needed
One air-conditioned bus links two beaches, Rodeo Drive and Hollywood Boulevard. The only thing left to plan is lunch.
Los Angeles keeps its famous addresses far apart. The Santa Monica Pier sits on the water. The Hollywood Sign sits in the hills, and Rodeo Drive lands somewhere between them. Driving that triangle yourself turns into three parking problems before noon.
This tour hands the geography to someone else. One air-conditioned vehicle runs the whole loop and returns you to the point where you boarded. A driver and guide stay with the group all day, and bottled water is on board.

The guided part runs seven and a half hours, counted from the meeting point. Hotel pickup and drop-off sit outside that count. Pickups can begin up to an hour and a half before the tour itself starts, depending on where you are staying.
Three departure points are open to anyone booking without a pickup: Anaheim GardenWalk at 7:30 AM, Hollywood Boulevard at 8:00 AM, Santa Monica at 9:30 AM. Pickup hotels come from a fixed list, and a booking that names a hotel outside that list can be cancelled.

Santa Monica gets thirty minutes and Venice gets thirty-five. That is enough for a stretch of pier deck or one pass along the boardwalk. Swimming is out.
Booking the Santa Monica departure removes the wait before the tour and leaves room to walk the pier if you come early. That is the one lever you have over the morning, and the operator puts it in its own booking notes.
Venice fills the second slot. The boardwalk carries the bike path, the vendor stalls and the painted art walls. The canals sit a few blocks inland, laid out with footbridges and rowboats tied along private docks.
Hollywood at Sidewalk Level

Hollywood Boulevard is the longest stop of the day at forty-five minutes. That window covers the Walk of Fame, the forecourt at the Chinese Theatre where the handprints are pressed into concrete, and the Dolby Theatre, where the Oscars are handed out.
Griffith Park arrives as two short stops of fifteen minutes each, one at a viewpoint and one at the Observatory. The bus reaches the closest point a bus can reach, and the sign itself stays across the canyon.
Sunset Strip passes the window without the doors opening. The Roxy, the Whisky a Go Go and the Viper Room get named from the road.
Lunch Is Yours to Choose
The bus parks at the Original Farmers Market on West Third Street for an hour. Stalls there cover most diets and most budgets. The meal itself is not included in the ticket.
The Grove sits next door and picks up a fifteen-minute slot for anyone who finishes eating early.
Gratuities and parking also sit outside the ticket. Bring a way to pay.
What Can Change on the Day
Two things move. The Observatory closes on Mondays, and the park sometimes shuts for filming; on those days the route swaps in Mulholland Drive, the Hollywood Bowl, or both. The order of the stops can also shift.
A few fixed rules are worth reading before you pack:
- Nothing larger than a backpack comes aboard, and there is no storage on the vehicle.
- Commentary runs in English only.
- Folding umbrella strollers are fine. Larger frames stay behind.
- Children ride with an adult, and infant seats are available.
- Ask ahead if you need a wheelchair lift.
- Seats are not assigned, though the driver tries to keep groups together.
📍 The pin marks the TCL Chinese Theatre at 6925 Hollywood Boulevard. The Hollywood meeting point is a few doors west of it, street side in front of the LALA Land Souvenir shop at 7005, and the bus goes at 8:00 AM sharp. The Santa Monica departure meets at 1537 2nd Street beside the valet stand. The Anaheim departure meets at the GardenWalk concierge desk in front of McCormick & Schmick's Grille.
Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for a full refund.
Drop-offs begin after the last Hollywood stop, somewhere between 5:00 and 5:30 PM. That leaves the boulevard open for the evening, and you are already standing on the right block for it.
