Set inside Texas's oldest municipal park, this 1930 Spanish-style library features vaulted ceilings and arched wings.
Description

Designed by architects Atlee B. and Robert M. Ayers, the building opened on August 5, 1930, as San Antonio's first branch library and the only one built in a public park. Two large archways open into separate wings for adult and juvenile collections in a very intimate setting, while two back spaces originally served as screened-in porches. In 2007, a community block grant and local neighborhood support funded a comprehensive renovation, restoring the historic building close to its original condition.
